I only get the Spam box to click if:
a) they’re in my regular inbox (not bulk)…and I don’t want to keep moving those to my regular inbox; or…
b) if they’re in the bulk box and I select EACH and every spam email….which I prefer NOT to open since that could set me up for viruses, etc..

Maybe you have a different vesion than I use. I cannot transfer garbage to SPAM directly from the BULK folder, although it is easily done from the main mailbox.
To solve this, I created another folder which I labelled SPAM.
In the BULK mailbox I read through the information and, if all of them are garbage( which is normal) I click on the “select all” box which is at both the upper and lower left corner of your list.
I then click on MOVE and transfer them to the SPAM folder.
My SPAM folder provides a SPAM connection, the same as does the main mailbox. so in my own folder, I Select All, then click on YahooSPAM, and they are gone.
