I was selling certain items through the local newspaper and their online classifieds, and got a few responses today. I don’t know how naive it was of me to give the interested party my contact info – thinking they needed this info to send the agreed upon money order amount. But after the third email – supposedly by a different “person” (all yahoo accounts) – I knew something was wrong. The third emailer wrote me the same exact paragragh the first guy wrote me – with an emphasis on a speedy transaction, and the need to have my contact info as quickly as possible! I’m an idiot!! But how in the world could I’ve avoided this? And what should I do now? How can I protect myself? It’s not like I gave these guys extremely personal info, so how far can someone get with your name, address, and tel. number?? PLEASE HELP!!!!!
