You should remember that if you are going to text or email someone that all they can see is the text and that they can not hear the tone of your voice or see your body language. So try and dumb down your communication if you think it might be misinterpreted because it often will be. If you have a sensitive friend like that you should be especially careful about what ever you send to him or her. At least you know your friend is sensitive, what is worse is when you have one of those silent types that will never let you know they are offended by what you sent. I would be proactive with your friend. If you think they might have taken something the wrong way, explain your self. At the same time I tell them to stop being so sensitive and to not take things so literally. If your friend just won’t grow up, seriously limit your written communication to them. I’d only send something to them if you’ve proof read it 3 or 4 times – and even then I would make sure that the note is brief. You learn in life that you have to meet people where they are.
